A single split system is the most straightforward way to add air conditioning to one room. One outdoor condenser connects to one indoor wall unit via insulated refrigerant pipework and cabling. It is the go-to choice for a master bedroom that runs too warm in summer, a home office that needs reliable cooling, or a south-facing lounge where the heat builds up by mid-afternoon.
We install Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, and Fujitsu systems — brands that hold up in the Midlands climate and come with solid UK warranty support. Every install includes a fixed-price quote before we start, so you know exactly what you are paying. No day-rate surprises, no hidden extras for trunking or electrical work within a standard installation.
Most single split installations are completed in a single day. We arrive with the unit, mount the outdoor condenser on a suitable wall bracket or flat base, run the pipework through a cored hole (typically 65–75 mm), connect the indoor unit, pressure-test the refrigerant circuit, and commission the system. You will be shown how to use the remote, set timers, and switch between cooling and heating modes if your unit is a heat pump model.
For a typical three-bedroom semi in Wolverhampton or Coventry, a single split in the main bedroom costs from £1,500 including VAT. Larger pipe runs, difficult access, or premium designer units will increase the price — we quote these individually after a survey. Loft conversions, garden rooms, and annexes are common jobs for us; pipe runs up to 15 metres are standard on most systems.
Planning permission is rarely needed for a wall-mounted condenser on a residential property, provided it meets permitted development rules. We assess the proposed location during the survey and flag any concerns before you commit. If your property is listed or in a conservation area, we will advise on the best approach.
Every installation is carried out by F-Gas certified engineers. Refrigerant handling is regulated in the UK, and using an uncertified installer can void your warranty and leave you without proper documentation. We provide a commissioning certificate and register the warranty with the manufacturer on your behalf.
